Hi, I’m Jake Parkinson. I’m a seed potato farmer and an avid believer in off-time. I’ve helped grow potatoes that have been sent nearly everywhere; from your local Five Guys Restaurant chain to East Asia , North Africa, and Central and South America.

I write about current subjects in the potato, and farming in general, industry as well as the occasional blurb about a particularly fun weekend adventure or something that I have learned that I think may benefit a wider audience. These can range from cycling to woodworking or even playing the violin, all things that I do in the time I’m not at the farm to try and maintain a work/life balance.

I certainly don’t know everything about farming, there are a lot of people that have been doing it much longer than I have. But, I am happy to share what I do know as well as try and offer my perspective on what can be done to strengthen the industry and help more people know what happens with farming in general. If you’d like to know more about me check it out here.
